The Mediterranean Sea coast / North Coast
The Mediterranean Coast of Egypt or the Northern Coast of Egypt, extends for about 1050 km (652 miles) from Rafah in the east on Sinai Peninsula to Sallum in the west on the Egyptian-Libyan border. It is one of the longest Mediterranean shores in North Africa.
The city of Alexandria lies at the center of the Mediterranean Egyptian coastline, as chosen by Alexander the Great. It has been the hub of sea travel between the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile Delta for over 2300 years.

Alexandria
The second most important city in Egypt and the largest port. It lies on the Mediterranean sea, 221 KM from Cairo to the North. Built by the order of Alexander the Great 332 BC to be close to his home land, as well as a center of Greek culture and civilization. Alexandria remained for centuries a beacon of cultures from world over, and left its mark on the history of mankind. It has a temperate climate and soft sandy beaches. It’s called to be the pearl of the Mediterranean.

Al Alamien
El Alamein (or Al Alamayn, means "the two flags") is a town in northern Egypt on the Mediterranean Sea coast in Matruh Governorate. It is 106 km west of Alexandria and 240 km northwest of Cairo.
Attraction : El Alamein has a war museum with collectibles from the world war II. Visitors can also go to the Italian and German Military Cemetry outside the town. The German cemetry is an ossuary with the remains of 4,200 German soldiers, built in the style of medieval fortress. The Italian cemetry is a mausoleum containing many galleries of tombs
There is also a Commonwealth war cemetery with graves of soldiers from various countries who fought on the British side. This has monuments commemorating Greek, New Zealand, Australia, South African, Indian and Canadian forces. The names of 213 Canadian airmen appear on the El Alamein Memorial in Egypt.

The Battle of El Alamein, fought in the deserts of Egypt, is one of the decisive victories of World War Two. The Battle of El Alamein was primarily fought between two of the outstanding commanders of World War Two, Montgomery and Rommel. The Allied victory at El Alamein lead to the retreat of the Africa Korps and the German surrender in North Africa in May 1943. |

Marsa Matruh (or Matrouh) lies 290 km. West of Alexandria. The distance from Cairo to Matruh is 524 km. It lies on a bay on the Mediterranean. The beach in Marsa Matruh is believed to be one of the the most beautiful in the world. Marsa Matruh is a main Egyptian tourist city, and serves as a getaway resort for Europeans and Egyptians in the summer months. The city is known for its white soft sands and calm transparent waters; the bay is protected from the high seas by a series of rocks forming a natural wave breaker, with a small opening to allow light vessels in. Climate: Marsa Matruh has a typical dry Mediterranean climate, with cool winters and warm, dry summer. The city experience pleasant weather during summer. Rainfall occurs mainly during winter, but may also appear during the autumn or spring. Sleet and hail may also occur. AttractionsAgeeba Beach : About 28 km. west of Marsa Matrouh downtown, it is distinguished by its numerous natural caves and enchanting scenery.
