Al Quseir

Al-Quseir may also be named (El Quseir, Quseir, Quesir, Qusseir or Kosseir) is a city in Egypt. Approximately 5000 year old, it lies along the Red Sea.

Location: About 85 km south of Safaga, 205 km south of Hurghada, 103 km north of Marsa Alam and 73 km north of the Marsa Alam International Airport.

Today, it is a quiet resort with sandy beaches, clear waters and coral reefs. The town's narrow streets are lined with colorful bazaars which have a decidedly Bedouin accent. An ancient caravan trail, to Qift in the Nile Valley, leads from al-Quseir through the mountains, passing several Pharaonic and Roman sites. A new road, directly to Luxor, opens soon.

Activities : Main activities are water activities. The well preserved coral reefs near the coasts of Al Quseir makes it a good spot for practicing diving and snorkeling to explore the beauty of the underwater life. However the area abides to strict environmental regulations to preserve the fragile coral  reefs.
